An existing dilapidated chapel in a small town is in desperate need of replacement. We took on the challenge of designing one that not only gives the people the place of prayer they need, but is strong enough to withstand strong calamities and can be built as fast as possible.

By using large chunky discrete elements, we are able to cut construction time tremendously. The waffle-like qualities of each element allows the modular component to be structural in nature, allowing us to build without the need of columns and beams. By introducing slits and by staggering the placement of panels, we are able to allow daylight and cross ventilation.
