At the core of this proposal is embracing simplicity. The chapel is essentially just a box, the simplest and most basic form. This way, light and shadow become the main event, making up for a solemn and still place of worship.

Given that the existence of the universe is one of the greatest manifestations of a higher being, the resulting structure is inspired by the four elements of matter as manifested in our choice of materials, where earth is manifested in our concrete mass & wood accents, fire in our steel crucifix and structure, water in our reflecting pond that will help cool the interior of the chapel as winds pass through it, and lastly, air which is manifested in our flexibility in design, with its sliding partitions that control the movement of the users. This can vary from an intimate setting when all partitions are closed to a more communal setting when everything is opened.
